The Victoria and Alfred Waterfront (The V&A) is a working harbour and shopping/entertainment centre, which is South Africa's most visited tourist attraction. It is only about 15 minutes, by car, from our apartment. The Waterfront incorporates over 250 retail outlets, as well as a multitude of restaurants and a cinema complex.

The Two Oceans aquarium, IMAX cinema, S.A. Maritime Museum and Telcom Exploratorium are all adjacent to the V&A. You can also depart for The Robben Island Tour, as well as harbour boat tours from here.

In the city centre, you can explore St George’s Mall, with its many street musicians and cafe society.

Government Avenue leads to outstanding museums and galleries. After visiting these take time to relax in the Company’s Gardens, which were the original gardens established by the Dutch East India Company to provide refreshment for the passing sailors.
